Activity of the Day: The It's All Kid's Play blog provides an activity of the day. While the blog has over a hundred activities posted on it, I am now posting activities on Twitter every day along with links, articles, resources, and other great things. All activities can also be found in the activity sections to the left.

Arts and Crafts: This section is full of activities that focus on making crafts. Example activities: memory box, inuksuk, and make your own sidewalk chalk.
Be an Artist: These are more artist like activities. Example activities: make a coin imprint, draw a picture, and make a fist puppet.
Car Rides: Activities and games for in the car. Example activities: I Spy, Round Up, License Plate Numbers.
Computers: Things to do online, with computers or other technology. Example activities: research your favourite things, play a computer game, and chat.
Construction Projects: These activities are slightly more complicated building projects and may require specialized tools, supplies, plans and a helping adult set of hands. Example activities: build a walking stick, make a grass head, and make a piñata.
Counting: These activities are challenges involving numbers and counting. Example activities: count your teeth, how far can you jump?, and dare to compare.
Do I have to?: These activities usually come along with the words, "Do I have to?" While not the most exciting things to do in the world of a child, if they get them done now, they just might have time to squeeze in that other fun activity before supper. Example activities: roll your coins, have a bath, and do your chores.
Fashion: These activities have to do with clothes. Example activities: wear all your clothes, put your clothes on backwards, and find a new way to lace up your shoes.
Food Fun: Involves food. Example activities: S'mores, suck jello through your teeth, and make your own dog biscuits.
Games: Active Games: These games are bouncy, rowdy fun, suitable for outdoors and four or more players. Example activities: Tug-o-war, Red Rover, and Sardines.
Games: Word Games: These are word games that are played out loud with other players. They are great to play anytime--including during car rides. Example activities: Apple Bear, Going on a Picnic, and one minute speeches.
Games: Quieter Games: These games are for groups of four or more and are quieter than the active games. They are generally played indoors. Example activities: Lonely Ghost, Simon Says, and Human Knot.
Get out of the House: These activities do just like they say. They get you out of the house, exploring and doing something different. Example activities: go to a museum, get a job, and spend some pennies at a wishing well.
Goodness of Your Heart: Good deeds and nice things done here. Example activities: volunteer, pet therapy, and do something for the environment.
Holidays: These are special holiday activities. Example activities: make Christmas cards, make a birthday wish list, and carve a pumpkin.
Kid's Play: Typical, every day kid type activities. Example activities: blow bubbles, play house, and record yourself.
Let's Pretend: Use your imagination for these ones. Example activities: Pretend you are a super hero, spend a million dollars, and bumper cars.
Musical: These activities involve making music, listening to music and more. Example activities: lipsync, dance, and make your own instrument.
Ooey Gooey: Oh yeah, things are going to get weird and fun in this one! Example activities: make playdough, have a spitting contest, make flubber.
Outside: Winter: These are winter activities and you will need a place where you get snow and ice. Example activities: have a snowball fight, make snow angels, and drink hot chocolate.
Outside: Dark: These are activities for outside in the dark. Example activities: catch a firefly, make up your own constellation, howl at the moon.
Paper and Scissors: These arts and craft activities require paper and scissors. Example activities: paper airplanes, fortune square, and snowflakes.
Plants: Activities to do with plants. Example activities: pick fruit, climb a tree, and make a daisy chain.
Quiet Time: These are settle down, quiet time activities. Example activities: yoga, jigsaw puzzle, and daydream.
Rain: Activities for in the rain or right after it. Example activities:
Reading, Writing, Etc: These activities have to do with reading and/or writing. Example activities: make your own crossword, write a poem, and learn a new word.
Sand: You'll need sand for these activities. Example activities: build a sand castle, write in the sand, and sand angels.
Tricky Business: Goofy activities and tricks that are fun little challenges. Example activities: give a shock, make salt crystals, and catch a coin off your elbow.
Water: You'll need water for these activities. Example activities: Marco Polo, pretend you are a dolphin/shark/whale, and skip stones.
Winter Sports: These are winter sport activities that have to do with snow and ice. Example activities: ice fishing, snowshoeing, and hockey.
With a Friend: Games and activities to do with a friend. Example activities: Memory, scavenger hunt, and trade stickers or collectible cards.
